Purple Lamp Studios SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake finds wish-granting Mermaid’s Tears in the hands of SpongeBob and Patrick… What could go wrong? Sure, the very fabric holding the universe together could come undone, opening portals into wild Wishworlds. But that’s nothing our favorite sponge can’t handle- with the right cosmic costume! Acting as a spiritual successor to the fan-favorite SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, fans see the game as a worthy follow-up to their favorite cult classic.
Purple Lamp Studios collaborated with Speech Graphics to animate their cast of characters (including SpongeBob & Patrick) in multiple languages and dialects using our SGX software.
Pauline Lecomte (Senior Creative Lead, Speech Graphics) lead the unique character and muscle setup process, and reflects on the project:
“Working on these iconic characters was incredibly exciting for our team, and more importantly, this project provided us with valuable insights into the versatility of SGX when it comes to stylized characters.
Throughout the project, we maintained a close collaboration with Purple Lamp which permitted both parties to exchange feedback, resulting in a highly effective and enjoyable working relationship.”

Martin Kreuch, Senior Creative Producer at Licensed Games, shared their experience of using our SGX software:
“Speech Graphics enabled us to deliver lip-synced localized dialogues in nine languages. Together with help from the Speech Graphics team, we were able to achieve comic-style lip animations. The timing data created during the animation creation process was additionally used to trigger specific reaction animations”.

More than 60,000 players added the game to their Steam accounts' wishlist a month before its release.
It sold almost 50,000 copies during the first month of release on Steam.
